On Demand Hydrogen UAV filling
Chris Allo, CTO for ElektrikGreen, will explore the problems and logistics of bringing Hydrogen to Airports and sky ports throughout the US and World for drone usage. Currently battery powered devices are somewhat easily recharged through power cables and conventional fuel vehicles usually have refueling mechanisms in most global airports. For the new Hydrogen powered UAV’s this is more difficult as it is typically quite costly to install stationary hydrogen fueling stations or even to bring in Semi-sized tube trucks with high pressure hydrogen. Filling from high pressure devices such as tube trucks can be quite challenging as well as dangerous. To make hydrogen more accessible, a new safe form of on-site generation, compression, and refueling must be achieved. Hydrogen fueling systems must be able to run on plug-in grid power or be self-sustaining using solar or similar power sources. The systems must also be mobile so that the UAV developers can bring their hydrogen refueling stations with them or that the stations can be deployed on-demand.
