Sergeant Robert Dooley has more than 22 years of service as a Florida State Trooper, and has developed and led FHP’s UAV program since inception. His expertise includes law enforcement UAS operations, disaster response operations, special event and high-value target UAS security, and the legal aspects of operating Drones for Good. Sgt. Dooley regularly assists other public safety agencies and partner organizations with developing and enhancing their UAV programs. His broad range of experience includes working with other partner agencies at the local, state, inter-state, and Federal levels, as well as lawmakers, State Attorneys, the media, and other community stakeholders.
Sgt. Dooley also serves as the cofound and LEO lead for the DRONERESPONDERS Florida Public Safety Coordination Group (FLOGRU), where he assisted public safety and government drone users throughout Florida in transitioning their fleets to Florida-compliant UAS. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Peninsula Chapter of AUVSI (AUVSI Florida). Sgt. Dooley is a natioanl FAA FAASTeam rep and sits on the IACP Aviation commitee.
