David Lee is a Senior Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Legal Policy where he served as one of the DOJ’s Responsible
AI Officials and currently serves on the DOJ’s Emerging Technology Board. He focuses on drafting and implementing Artificial Intelligence, Facial Recognition, and Data Broker policies; and on presenting training
on UAV matters to federal prosecutors around the country. After law school, he clerked for judges on the U.S. District Court in Miami and on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and worked as a litigation associate at two national law firms. Since 2008, he has worked as an attorney in the federal government at DOJ’s National Security and Antitrust Divisions, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and in the intelligence community. He graduated from Columbia University and Georgetown Law School.
