Stephen has 15 years of global responsibilities in the energy industry. He is Lead of the Drone Engineering group at Eversource Energy, part of Transmission Line Engineering. The group consists of 2 engineers and 8 FAA certified pilots. Drone Engineering performs annual inspections on Transmission and Distribution structures through the service territory, patrols Rights-of-Ways during storm responses, and is the SME for all unmanned aerial activity at Eversource Energy.
Stephen has extensive international experience in the finance and engineering fields. A degreed civil engineer, Stephen was previously responsible for worldwide Munich Re Group offshore wind energy underwriting from a project insurance (CAR/OAR) standpoint and restarted the business strategy for offshore wind farms with success in the Asian market. He previously worked for Munich Re subsidiary Hartford Steam Boiler Insurance (HSB), where he performed engineering reviews and risk analysis for renewable energy accounts.
Before joining Munich Re, Stephen was Project Development Manager at a startup wind turbine manufacturer and developer.
Stephen received his Civil Engineering degree from Northeastern University, Boston, and completed post-bachelor studies in Industrial Management at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium. He has also studied at both the University of Western Australia (Perth) and the Delft University of Technology (Netherlands). He is currently enrolled in the MS in Unmanned Systems program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida.
In addition, Stephen is also certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Firefighter. He volunteers for his town fire department and ambulance service, serving as a former Lieutenant, and has worked Emergency Medical Services in the Boston and Hartford region.
His interest are renewable energy, start-ups, urban planning, drones, and emergency medicine.
