Timothy Dodge

Tim Dodge serves as the Division Manager (A) for the Federal
Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Office of Unmanned Aircraft
Systems (UAS) and Emerging Entrants Security, which is the
FAA’s lead organization responsible for drone and Advanced
Air Mobility (AAM) security in U.S. airspace. Within this role,
Mr. Dodge supports the Executive Director in leading FAA’s
efforts to safely integrate detection and mitigation systems for
drones and AAM operations in the National Airspace System
(NAS) and supports UAS security-related rulemaking, research
and development, policy formulation, education and outreach,
and data management.

Prior to joining the Office of UAS & Emerging Entrants
Security, Mr. Dodge served as the Deputy Director for the 371st Special Operations Combat Training Squadron assigned to Air Force Special Operations Command, Hurlburt Field Florida. He was responsible for administrative oversight and operational execution of Special Operations training activities, to include Specialized Combat Field Skills, Intelligence Formal Training Unit and Unmanned Aerial Systems schoolhouse supporting United States Special Operations
Command taskings abroad. Mr. Dodge began his public service as an airman in the U.S. Air Force. Tim’s active-duty career
was centered around providing safety and security within the aviation enterprise. His aviation experience portfolio extends to 49 countries. After retiring from active-duty service, he transitioned to Federal Civil Service where he continued to serve Air Force Special Operations
Command within the positions of Chief of Training and Civilian Deputy Director. Mr. Dodge transitioned after 28 years from his service with the Department of Defense to the FAA’s office of UAS Security in October of 2022. Tim graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education and Development. Additionally, he received senior leadership development at the
United States Air Force Air War College, and academic certificate in design from Stanford University. Tim holds an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate, with experience on multiple airframes. He graduated the Defense Language Institute where he became fluent within the Thai language and culture. Tim values spending time with his family as well as being an avid outdoorsman, who enjoys
fishing, boating, photography and woodworking.
